MISSION STATEMENT

Athena Institute of Health Sciences is committed to provide quality education to nurses who will be professionally competent with adequate knowledge, skills, attitudes and leadership qualities to deliver holistic health care to the clients.

PHILOSOPHY

The Faculty of Athena Institute of Health Sciences believes in providing nursing education based and built on scientific principles and educational theory and practice in order to prepare professionally qualified nurses, who will be able to function as team members in all health care settings in the role of a practising nurse. The graduate with experience can rapidly move into leadership positions in Nursing Education, Nursing Service & Administration.

We promote all-round development of the students with special emphasis on human, moral, psychological, cultural, intellectual and spiritual aspects which is required to prepare a professional nurse who will be a contributing citizen and an effective change agent in an ever changing society.

Being aware of the pressing need of the profession we are committed to providing post graduate education to those nurses who have the potential and motivation to become nurse, educators, administrators, clinical specialists & researchers who will be able to contribute towards professional excellecnce by mating the issues and challenges confronting the nursing profession today.

Inspired by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, we strive to inculcate the spirit of genuine love and true service in the hearts of students.

OBJECTIVES

1. Develop confidence and competency in providing quality education and patient care in various health care settings.

2. Develop knowledge and skills in conducting nursing research, interpret and apply for the advancement of the practice of nursing profession.

3. Analyse critically the existing situation of the profession and bring about change in the health care delivery system with a democratic approach.

4. Exercise leadership position in nursing service, education and administration with increased cognitive, affective and psycho motor abilities.

5. Develop personal and professional growth through continuing education.

6. Practice ethical values in personal and professinal life with the spirit of Jesus Christ.
